Tristan Nunez lead the Performance Tech Motorsports Cooper Tires Prototype LITES entries to a convincing win in the thirty minute race today at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Qualifying on the pole and leading every lap of the race Nunez was never seriously challenged. This was his fourth win in five starts, with five pole position qualifying runs so far in 2012.
With the Performance Tech LMPC car and Alan Wilzig’s LITES 2 car packed into team transporter #1, and the team’s L 1 cars loaded into transporter #2, the Performance Tech Motorsports team headed over 2,500 miles to race at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah.
For those waiting to hear about qualifying the LMPC car for the 12 hour race. Matos was 3 seconds from crossing the finish line with what would have been a top time in class, when a crash by a P2 car red flagged the session. We are starting last in class but still ahead of all the GT traffic.
