Performance Tech Motorsports Return to Mid-Ohio for Round Three of IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge with Three-Car Lineup

Performance Tech Motorsports is eagerly returning to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for the third round of the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge. This will be the team’s first time back at the Lexington-based track since 2022, and they will be looking to make their mark, fielding a three-car entry with full-season driver Alex Kirby commanding the #7 L.A. Prep Ligier JSP320s alongside Jonathan Woolridge in the #38 Ligier JSP320s. They will also be joined by Jordan Menzin in the #18 Ligier JSP320s, who will be making his debut in the series.

The team has accumulated two podium finishes so far this season, with Alex Kirby securing a P2 result in Daytona, and Jonathan Woolridge earning a P3 result in St. Petersburg. The Florida-based outfit is looking to grow this number as they set their sights on more top performances in the upcoming two races.
This also marks Jordan Menzin’s first race in IMSA competition, but he has already seen prior success with the Performance Tech Motorsports team, having recently finished first in class at The Mitty at Road Atlanta.

Mid-Ohio presents unique challenges, with its high-speed nature and elevation changes providing thrilling action across the entirety of its 2.258 mile, 13-turn layout. The track has been hosting top tier events for over six decades, and Performance Tech Motorsports is preparing to hit the ground running.

“We’re all very happy to be back on track this weekend,” said Alex Kirby. “Mid-Ohio always serves up some intense racing, so myself and the team will be doing all we can to put the #7 car out in front. It feels good to be back with the crew again, and I can’t wait to see what this place has in store for us.”

“It has been a long break and I think we are all looking forward to getting back to racing,” exclaimed Jonathan Woolridge. “I am excited to see the team’s hard work on the #38 car come together this weekend. Mid-Ohio is historically proven to have pretty tight action for the fans, and I definitely think this will be the case between us and the GSX field. Performance Tech Motorsports has had great success at Mid-Ohio, so I'm excited to continue that streak of success for them this weekend.”

“I’m very excited for my first weekend competing in the IMSA VP SportsCar Challenge,” expressed Jordan Menzin. “I really like Mid-Ohio, it’s a great track, and I can’t wait to see what the team and I can accomplish together.”

“Myself and the entire Performance Tech Motorsports team are greatly looking forward to coming back to Mid-Ohio,” echoed Team Owner Brent O'Neill. “I’m glad to be coming back to this exciting track, and I think there’s a lot of potential for us to do well here. We’ve shown that we have strong pace and can challenge in the Top 3 consistently, but now we’re striving to reach the top step of the podium and I’m confident that we can accomplish this mission this weekend.”
