FRUSTRATING EVENT FOR PERFORMANCE TECH MOTORSPORTS AT SEBRING

Performance Tech Motorsports overcame adversity to finish sixth in the 71st annual 12 Hours of Sebring. It was a long race for the drivers who had to navigate a hectic field and numerous full course cautions. Sebring International Raceway has a renowned reputation for being hard on the machines due to the tenacity and unforgiving nature of the bumps, but the crew kept their heads down and worked tirelessly to finish the event in 6th place.

Even though the team made some unscheduled pit stops for minor repairs, Christopher Allen, Robert Mau and Tristan Nunez co-drove their #38 Ligier JSP320s with passion and determination, recording flying laps throughout the race. They gained valuable data, and track time, and are fully focused on the future ahead.

“It was a tough day for us at Sebring but I’m really proud of the team for getting us to the finish line,” said Christopher Allen. “This track is incredibly challenging, but at the end of the day we still have some positive takeaways and it was a pleasure to be able to compete and race at such an iconic and historic venue. It was great being able to drive alongside Tristan and Robert, and remember, we are your favorite team!”

Robert Mau echoed Christopher Allen’s thoughts, stating that, “it was a rough day for us, but I want to thank the Performance Tech Motorsports team for working so hard to keep us on track.  Next time we will be faster and we’ll come back stronger.”

Tristan Nunez, who was back at the helm of the #38 Ligier, after a decade-long hiatus, stated that “it was a difficult race for us from the very beginning. The Performance Tech crew did an amazing job, as always. It was very reminiscent of being back with them again after all this time. In endurance racing, it’s important to focus on the positives when it comes to races like this. Things don’t always go according to plan, but at the end of the day we did finish the 12 Hours of Sebring and that’s no small feat. It was a pleasure sharing the car with Chris and Rob. I'm sure our paths will cross again, and I’m looking forward to it.”
