Lindh Takes the Reins for Road America

Performance Tech Motorsports welcomes back Rasmus Lindh to the No. 6 Motel 6 Ligier LMP3 for IMSA Prototype Challenge Round 3 Road America.

The Swedish superstar joins Dan Goldburg in the No. 6 for his second consecutive IMSA Prototype Challenge event after Blake Mount developed symptoms that could be attributed to COVID-19. Lindh and Goldburg immediately meshed at their first event at Sebring International Raceway earning the ranking of fastest Ligier. Team Principal Brent O’Neill is excited to have the pair back together to build on their success.

“Rasmus fit right into the team,” O’Neill said. “He and Dan got on really well so I have no doubt they can get right up to speed this weekend. It will be a race against the Norma’s again but I’m positive that they can at the least be the top finishing Ligier.”

Lindh learned that he would be piloting the No. 6 at 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 30 after it was announced Mount could not travel. He made quick work of loading his car and beginning the trek to Road America so he could arrive in time for Practice One at 8:45 a.m. CT. Lindh and Goldburg are no strangers to Road America, making them one of the only pairings in the IMSA Prototype Challenge paddock to have conquered the 14 turn, 4.048-mile track before.

“I really like Road America,” Lindh said. “I think we can do really well here. We just need to build speed and we’ll be where we need to be. My goal this weekend is to be on the podium. I think we can do it, we just need to stay consistent and calm.”

The No, 6 Motel 6 Ligier LMP3 hits the track today, July 31, at 8:45 a.m. CT for Practice One followed by Practice Two at 12:45 p.m. and Qualifying at 3:30. The pair returns to the track Saturday, August 1, for Round 3 of IMSA Prototype Challenge at 10:35 a.m. For more details on how to watch the race or limited tickets sales visit https://www.imsa.com/events/road-america/.
